President's Message

Dear Customers, Employee and Shareholders,
I'm pleased to report that we continue to enjoy solid growth. We attribute much of this growth to our loyal customers, businesses, employees, governance, communities, shareholders and others. Our focus on superior customer service remains our top priority, and obviously yours too. As a community bank, providing our customers with superior customer service remains our top priority. This focus, is the primary reason for our success.
I am pleased to report that 2007 was another good year for Rockville Financial, Inc. For the year ended December 31,2007, total assets grew by 7.6% to $1.3 billion and total deposits grew by 7.55 to $951 million. Total net loans grew 8.0% to $1.1 billion. Our residential mortgages, construction and home equity grew $29 million to $673 million while our commercial loans, comprised of real estate, construction and business, grew $51 million to $441 million. It is important to mention the Bank has never actively engaged in "sub-prime" lending nor has it invested in any mortgage-backed securities subject to the risk of sub-prime lending. The Company's net income for 2007 was $8.3 million or $.44 per share, an increase of 21.5 % from 2006. We also increased our dividend by $.01 per share for the quarter ended December 31, 2007 to $.05 per share. We sold a minority interest of stock in the Company in May of 2005 to fund our recent extraordinary growth. Rockville Bank enjoyed a 25.00% deposit market share in Tolland County as of June 30, 2007, up from 24.17% in 2006, and we continue to increase our share in Hartford County. Rockville Bank has been serving our area, uninterrupted, since 1858. In November 2000, we shortened our name from The Saving Bank of Rockville because we offer a full range of financial services, not just savings and mortgages. In 2008, Rockville Bank, The Savings Bank of Rockville, one in the same, will be celebrating 150 years of service. We continue to pursue growth, independence and other opportunities to maximize our future.
Each year we focus on being active in the communities we serve. We contribute in many different ways, including employee volunteerism, sponsorships, donations, and our Scholarship programs for both academic and vocational students. We will continue our dedication to the communities we serve. A lot of you want to deal with a stable, independent community bank. Rockville Bank is a great choice. Thank you for your continued confidence and your business. We appreciate it and we won't let you down. We're staying independent, and we plan to be here to serve your lifetime financial service needs.
I personally invite you stop by any of our 20 branches. Please stop in, introduce yourself, and see what's going on in Coventry, East Hartford, East Windsor, Ellington, Enfield, Glastonbury, Manchester, Rockville, Somers, South Glastonbury, South Windsor, Suffield, Tolland and Vernon. Our newest branch in Colchester at 99 Linwood Avenue, Route 16, next to Stop & Shop Plaza will be opening Spring of 2008 and we also plan to open another branch in Manchester at 780 North Main Street in the late summer of 2008. Don't forget our four supermarket branches that are open 7 days a week. You may also visit our new web site for instant financial information at www.rockvillebank.com, or our Call Center, 860-291-3600 where a real person will answer the telephone. Please remember to tell others about our Break Up KitSM, where we help people change banks by doing all the transfer work for them.
In closing, thank you again for your trust and for referring us to friends and family. Word of mouth advertising is the best compliment you can give us. If we do things right, and to your satisfaction, please tell others. If not, please tell me and I’ll see what I can do about it. I would also like to thank our Board of Directors, senior management and our excellent employees. Without their dedication and efforts our mission to be “Connecticut's Best Community Bank” would not be possible. Thank you for saying, Rockville Bank...That’s My Bank!SM
Sincerely,

Bill McGurk
