Hi, I'm Barbara Benson and I am the Assistant Vice President and Branch Manager at two of Rockville Bank’s Enfield locations - the Hazard Avenue Branch located at 231 Hazard Avenue in the center of Hazardville and 660 Enfield Street.

Enfield is located in North Central Connecticut 18 miles north of Hartford and eight miles south of Springfield. Enfield is a very family oriented community with town parades on Memorial Day, Fourth of July and Veteran’s Day along with an annual Family Day and Jack O’Lantern Festival on Halloween.

I’m going to share some Enfield history with you. Did you know Enfield was formed through the merging of Enfield, Hazardville and Thompsonville? Hazardville was named for Colonel Augustus George Hazard whose company manufactured gun powder in a part of town known as Powder Hollow from 1830 to 1910. Most of the gun powder the Union used in the Civil War was made in Enfield. In fact, in the 1998 film Glory, boxes of gunpowder can be seen with the words Enfield, CT. printed on the sides.

Rockville Bank is committed to supporting the Enfield Community and encourages all employees to be involved with local organizations. Some of the organizations Rockville Bank supports include ARC of Greater Enfield, Asnuntuck Community College Foundation, Enfield Public Schools and Enfield Police Explorers. I have been a Rotarian for 23 years and currently a member of Enfield Rotary. I am also on the North Central Connecticut Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors and actively participate in organizing early morning Breakfast Connections and Business After Hours networking events. The chamber just successfully completed its 41st Annual Home and Product Show!

The drive-up window opens every morning at 7:30 a.m.! Our early opening compliments the late closing hour, 8:00 p.m., at our Big Y Enfield branch. Enfield has the best of both worlds early morning and late night banking! And don’t forget our 24/7 Enfield Drive-Up ATM at Scitico Plaza.

If you are visiting this website and you are a customer, I thank you. If you’re not a customer, consider this an invitation to become part of the Rockville Bank Family. "Rockville Bank…That’s My BankSM !"
