Howard Stanton, IIIROCKVILLE, CONN., June 24, 2010 – Howard Stanton, III has been promoted to Vice President/Controller at Rockville Bank. The announcement was made at the recent Annual Meeting by William J. McGurk, President and Chief Executive Officer of Rockville Bank.

Mr. Stanton joined Rockville Bank as Controller in August 2009. He is responsible for planning, organizing and directing the accounting and financial control activities of the bank, its holding company and all subsidiaries. He provides for the establishment and maintenance of financial and internal controls within the framework of Bank policies and objectives and governmental regulations.

With more than 20 years of experience in finance, Mr. Stanton’s background includes the positions of Vice President Finance of Westbank in West Springfield, Mass. and Chief Financial Officer of First New England Federal Credit Union in East Hartford, Conn. He has a Bachelor’s Degree from Merrimack College in North Andover, Mass., a diploma from the Savings Bank Supervisory Program sponsored by the Massachusetts Bankers Association, and advanced education and training in Asset/Liability Management.

Mr. Stanton and his wife, Diane, live in Springfield, Mass.
