Charitable Guests Dine In Rockville Bank Vault

Four area residents recently enjoyed an extraordinary gourmet dinner inside the Rockville Bank vault, served personally by Bank President & Chief Executive Officer William J. McGurk and Elizabeth Podd, AVP, Central HUB Manager – all to raise money for an important statewide organization.
The special dinner was a prize at the “2010 Channel 3 Kids Camp Celebrity Golf Tournament” that was held in September at Gillette Ridge Golf Course. The nonprofit overnight and day camp serves more than 4,000 boys and girls annually in Andover, Conn. Its mission is to provide opportunities to children, families and communities through educational and recreational programs that promote diversity, learning, and growth.
Robert J. Morande, Chief Executive Officer of Morande Automotive Group in Berlin, Conn., a member of the Channel 3 Kids Camp Board of Directors, was the highest bidder for the prize and he and three guests enjoyed dinner prepared by Maneeley’s Catering of South Windsor, round-trip limousine transportation to Rockville Bank from Perfect Rides in Hartford, and special touches such as menu selections printed inside VIP bank passbooks.
